Josefa Madrigal

Latino Outreach Program Coordinator
I was able to identify the passion and commitment that Captain Ruben Marté has for our community in all, with compassion to our underrepresented community, when I attended a community policing forum. Ruben Marté is culturally aware and is able to identify the struggles that we face and has been willing to address the issues and concerns with the public and with our local law enforcement agencies. Ruben participated as a guest for WFHB Hola Bloomington, a Spanish language program, to speak about a series of important police matters such as: the difference between our local law enforcement agencies, what to do if you get pulled over by an officer, and spoke about his passion to improving police and community relations, just to name some. It is great to know that he is a Commissioner and is committed to the City’s Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs mission. Overall, Ruben is just a passionate and compassionate human being. He’s a great person to chat with and share community concerns.

Dr. Paul Whitesell
Superintendent (ret), Indiana State Police
For eight years I served as the Superintendent of State Police. During that time, I had the tremendous good fortune to work with Mr. Ruben Marte. Ruben was always among those whom I could count on the most. He never failed to present with an eager willingness to be of assistance whenever and wherever he could. His work was always done in the utmost timely, professional and competent manner. In a short time, he had demonstrated himself to be of command capability and I readily promoted him to the rank of Captain – which is a lofty position within the organization. In that position, he never let me or the agency down in any fashion and only excelled within his advanced responsibilities. I am more than proud to add to his recommendations for a successful campaign to become the next Sheriff of Monroe County, Indiana.
